What Is a Children’s Product Tracking Label?
A tracking label provides identifying information that helps a manufacturer, importer, retailer or customer trace a children’s product to its production source and manufacturing batch.
Tracking information may be printed, molded, engraved or otherwise permanently marked on the product and its packaging when practicable. Codes may be used as long as the responsible company can interpret those codes and retrieve the related production information.
A tracking label is different from a Children’s Product Certificate. The tracking label helps identify the product and production cohort, while a CPC identifies applicable safety rules and the basis used to certify a particular children’s product.
Important: Compliance and certification records apply to specific products and production batches. A statement about one Okie Soft Play item should not automatically be applied to every item sold through the store.
How to Read an Okie Soft Play Tracking Label
Your label may use slightly different formatting depending on the product, manufacturing partner and available labeling area. Look for the following information.

Tracking Labels, CPCs and Testing Records
Tracking Label
Identifies the responsible company, production date and location, product model and manufacturing batch or run.
Children’s Product Certificate
Identifies the product, applicable safety rules, responsible certifier and the testing or other basis supporting certification.
Laboratory Test Report
Documents particular tests performed for a defined product sample, model, material or production configuration.
Request Product-Specific Documentation
Schools, daycares, marketplaces, retailers and purchasing departments may need documentation for a particular product before ordering or placing it into service.
Send us the complete product information so we can locate the most relevant available record. Documentation cannot be matched accurately from a general product category alone.
Depending on the item and batch, available records may include a Children’s Product Certificate, laboratory report, product specification, tracking-label interpretation or related manufacturing information.
Our Product Compliance Approach
Children’s products can be subject to different requirements based on their design, materials, intended age, intended use and product classification. Applicable rules are therefore reviewed on a product-by-product basis.
When certification applies, the Children’s Product Certificate should identify the specific rules applicable to that product and the basis supporting the certification. Testing requirements may also differ between products and applicable regulatory provisions.
Okie Soft Play maintains product and batch information to support traceability, customer questions, marketplace documentation requests and the review of reported product concerns.
Registration as a qualifying Small Batch Manufacturer does not remove the obligation to comply with applicable children’s product safety requirements or to issue a CPC when one is required.
Archived Batch and Purchase Records
Our public directory is intended to make common current batches easier to identify. Additional records may be maintained separately for prior production runs, discontinued products and special orders.
If a label is faded, incomplete or unavailable, we may be able to use the purchase date, order details, product photographs and known inventory history to assist with identification.
Record availability can vary by product, manufacturing date and the information supplied with the request.
Product Tracking and Compliance FAQ
Where can I find the tracking label?
Depending on the product, the tracking information may be molded, printed, attached or otherwise marked on the product, packaging, instruction materials or a combination of these locations.
What should I do if the label is difficult to read?
Take clear photographs under good lighting and contact us with your order number, purchase date and product description. Do not remove or alter the remaining label information.
Does a tracking label prove that a product passed testing?
No. A tracking label identifies the product and manufacturing cohort. Certification and test documentation are separate records that must be matched to the applicable product or batch.
Are all Okie Soft Play products covered by the same CPC?
No. A CPC should identify a particular product and the rules applicable to that product. Different models, materials or product types may require separate certification records.
Can a daycare or school request documentation?
Yes. Send the exact product, model, batch code and purchasing information. We will review which documentation is available for that item.
Why is my batch not listed on this page?
The product may be from an archived production run, a special order, a discontinued model or a batch not yet added to the public directory. Contact us for a manual lookup.
Who is responsible for an imported children’s product?
Responsibility depends on the product and supply arrangement. For products manufactured overseas, the U.S. importer is generally responsible for tracking-label compliance and applicable certification obligations.
